For NOVICES we help you adjust to the temperature and ever changing conditions of open water, sighting and the seemingly impossible task of swimming in a straight line!

For the more experienced INTERMEDIATES we can help with pacing, drafting and race day skills . Our coaches accompany the groups in Kayaks

    1:1 open water coaching
  • We will accompany you in a kayak at the new Tri Farm lake at Boreham in Chelmsford. The lake is open from End April to End September 17:00 to 19:30 every weekday (except Fridays) and from 08:30 to 14:30 weekends. Sessions must be booked with us in advance.
  • Over water video recording is available.
  • We will concentrate on all aspects of open water swimming.

Costs

£13 per 60 minute session. £10 Wetsuit hire available. Swimming in a wetsuit is compulsory for these sessions . Please note sessions at TriFarm require an entrance fee of £7.00 too, but then you are able to continue swimming in the lake after our coaching session has finished.
Please make sure you book into the correct group which are listed below:

NOVICE
Describes anyone who has never been swimming in a wetsuit, or in open water, or anyone who has swum in open water before but struggled, or anyone who alternates between breastroke and front crawl. They must be able to swim at least 25m front crawl non stop in a pool as this is the distance we will be swimming in between coaching feedback. Please note, do not book into the novice group if you can only swim BREASTROKE as we will be teaching skills that are only relevant to front crawl in the open water . If you want to learn front crawl please book a 1:1 lesson in our endless pool . Novice sessions will be accompanied by 1 coach in the water and a coach in the kayak but all participants should be able to tread water .

INTERMEDIATE
Describes anyone who has COMFORTABLY swum a minimum distance of 400m of front crawl in open water previously , but wants to improve their open water skills and improve speed and efficiency. The Coach will accompany swimmers in a kayak.


1:1 SESSIONS are also available on all of these dates after the group sessions have finished.Sessions must be booked in advance.

HADLEIGH PARK LAKE - These sessions are for novices only . Wetsuit hire available . You will also need to pay a £3.00 parking fee at Hadleigh Park

As a customer you will be given access to our new online members section where you will be able to view your video analysis from each lesson. You will also be able to access other learning resources and have dialogue with your coach between lessons. This service is offered for FREE as part of your lesson.

Gill Anderson and Dawn McFarlane are highly experienced 4 Stroke coaches now starting their 10th year of business in their purpose built premises which features an Endless Pool . They are passionate about their coaching and want you to reach your swimming goals. The lessons ,whilst highly technical are delivered in an easy to understand and friendly manner .

Work with our highly experienced coaches and view your progress throughout the lesson with video feedback from 4 camera angles . Our endless pool has an adjustable current with floor mirror and is located in our purpose built pool house with changing rooms and shower facilities. We have tried and tested all the wetsuits we sell and believe we have selected a perfect range to suit all budgets . We want to give you our full attention for a wetsuit fitting and request that you make an appointment so that the pool is free for you to try on the wetsuit .
